Co*aine: Everyone’s Cool With It. No One Does It. Apparently.
The Danish party leader Alex Vanopslagh has admitted to using co*aine while serving as party leader, and by now, every conceivable take on the story has already been exhausted. So rather than adding another take, this is a short post about the takes themselves. A meta post in the literal sense. What stands out is not the admission itself, but the reaction to it. A familiar pattern emerges. Commentators go out of their way to establish distance before offering acceptance: “Although I have never used co*aine, I think it is... Read more...
An Economic Bomb Is Ticking. Perfect Time to Do Something Stupid.
If there is three things you absolutely should not do, at least on paper, it is this. 1) Give up a secure job in a field that AI is already beginning to nibble away at. Especially your parents will strongly advise you to hold on to it for dear life. 2) Buy a flat in a housing market largely supported by professions you strongly suspect are also being eaten by AI. Pay Transparency - The best tool to never use
There is an old saying in tech and business circles: the US innovates, China replicates, Europe regulates. Wealth Tax
With the Danish government now discussing the introduction of a wealth tax on large fortunes, the debate about rich versus poor has once again taken center stage. Since I am nowhere near having a fortune of more than 25 million, I don’t really need to rack my round head (at least until I gather the courage to get masseter Botox) over what consequences that might have for this household. Instead, I can enjoy the debates about rich versus poor in Danish society – and particularly the left wing’s wonderful description... Read more...
Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy - Oh wow
There are style icons, and then there is Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. Oh wow.She is just about the most fantastic thing I’ve seen in years. She managed to be my mother’s style icon – and now she’s mine as well. But let’s be honest. It’s probably more a fascination with her than it is with her style. Because she doesn’t really have one. Call it über-minimalism, or whatever you like. In my world it’s a bit like painting your walls white and then telling everyone it’s your “unique interior design”. You could... Read more...
